Recruited to lead the experience design transformation of an enterprise early childhood education platform — moving Teaching Strategies from a print-era curriculum publisher to a digital-first, AI-enabled ecosystem serving educators, families, and administrators worldwide.

Guided the design strategy, operations, and organizational maturity that transformed Teaching Strategies into a digital-first leader in early childhood education — balancing business growth, educational impact, and transformative ease of use at scale.

Teaching Strategies’ connected digital ecosystem—the platform unifying curriculum, assessment, family engagement, and professional development—currently supports of over 4 million children and 270,000 early learning classrooms annually.

In addition to global product design direction and oversight, I remain principal product designer for the company’s suite of mobile applications, most notably SmartTeach (4.8★) and Finch (5.0★).

Independent Validation

A three-year randomized controlled trial (RCT) conducted by the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) at Rutgers University confirmed that the Teaching Strategies ecosystem — when used as designed — increased teacher retention by 59%, improved child outcomes across all measured learning domains (social-emotional, language, cognitive, literacy, and mathematics), and significantly raised teacher well-being scores while reducing burnout.

Achievements
  • Digital Transformation: Co-led the design strategy for an enterprise-scale platform modernization with Publicis Sapient, rebuilding every major product for data, analytics, AI-readiness, and global scalability.

  • SmartTeach Ecosystem: Led the design and evolution of SmartTeach, the platform connecting curriculum, assessment, family engagement, professional learning, and a growing global educator community.

  • AI in Product: Oversaw the design and user experience of AI Smart Suggestions, saving teachers over 55 million clicks each year — the equivalent of ten work-years of time returned to teaching annually.

  • AI in Workflow: Conceived and championed a Codex-powered prototyping tool enabling any Teaching Strategies employee to prototype within the constraints of the enterprise design system — the company’s first operational AI integration into the design process itself.

  • Design Infrastructure: Oversaw the development of the company’s first enterprise design system and accessibility framework; led the organization-wide Figma migration to component-based workflows (~200 active users).

  • User Research: Launched the company’s first formal user testing program, institutionalizing evidence-based design across all releases.

  • Recognition: SmartTeach and The Creative Curriculum® earned multiple national EdTech Awards (2025) for innovation in curriculum, assessment, and professional learning.

  • Leadership: Scaled UX from a functional group to a strategic organization; developed emerging leaders, formalized design governance, and elevated UX as a core business partner.
